COVERING ALL FACETS OF ENTERTAINMENT, NUBIA EMMON

Rising from the Real Dirty South, Nubia Emmon is THE BREAKOUT artist to watch. With R&B music that is youthful, upbeat, yet melodic, and captures the fun spirit of hip-hop, this multi-talented singer/rapper, dancer and songwriter is poised to bring a fresh sound to the music industry.

Born in the “Capital of Live Music” – Austin, Texas - music flows through Nubia; she is a distant cousin of Mahalia Jackson, her father grew up performing in an R&B band along with his brothers and sisters and her Mom sang while she was still in the womb. This innate love for music and constantly being in the presence of her family’s artistry was passed on to Nubia who was singing by the time she was 3. At 7 she formed her first group – “5BC”, (5 Best Cousins). They sang and performed dance routines choreographed by Nubia at family events and various school talent shows.

Nubia has a socially conscious side and plans to use her talent in music to give back to her community through The Nubia Emmon Foundation, which focuses on building healthy relationships within families, motivating and serving youth and supporting healthy lifestyles. Inspired by her Mother's current fight with breast cancer, Nubia's signature project is the "Pretty Girls that Rock the Mic" - a concert series that highlights breast cancer awareness and female artists. A recent high school graduate (Class of 2012), Nubia was accepted into the prestigious Sarah & Ernest Butler School of Music summer program on a scholarship which she successfully completed in 2012.
